Beat It Says Bose: Bose Attacks Beat’s For Multiple Patent Infringements

Recently overpriced, normal sound quality Bose has attacked over priced, not very good sound quality Beats Audio for multiple patent infringements. 36 patents are protected and Beats are in question for 5 of them.

Most of the infringed patents have to do with their Active noise reduction technology, the thing that people would use if they sleep next to someone who’s snoring really loud. The model accused of this is Beat’s Studio headphones line which was released around November of last year. And in May 2014 Apple bought them for 3 Billion dollars. Enough money for a small island.

Where am I going with this? Well, I have a few ideas.

First: The studio headphones purposely used the technology, before being bought by Apple, with full knowledge that they would be selling out to a company. Basically,they steal technology from something else, and put it in their product. Then they push the problem onto someone else, and get away like bandits!

Second: Bose knew Beats would be acquired by Apple, so they secretly gave them permission to use their tech, and once they in the hands of Apple, Bose would attack. Because on their own, might not be such a threat to them. But with Apple, they could do a lot more damage. So perhaps they’re taking the first strike, in a possible war.

Third: Beats don’t know what other people’s property is, or just didn’t know they were using patents, were bought by Apple, and now they’re just taking the bulk of the punches at this point

Fourth: Bose is patent whoring. They could’ve known about Beats using their technology, but knew Apple would be buying them. And this would go back to the second conspiracy.

I don’t really like any of the company’s in question here. But I least dislike Bose so I see everything coming out to a win win lose lose situation. Bose is winning because they’re probably going to win this case. Beats and Apple are losing, because Apple paid a lot of money for these headphones. And Dre wins cause he’s laughing all the way to bank.
